Why Should You Clean Your Ducts?

Your duct system functions as the respiratory system of your home.  When it becomes contaminated and congested, it should be cleaned so it can "breathe" normally and efficiently.  Dust, dirt, pollen, animal dander, and other airborne contaminants are pulled into your duct system every time the furnace or air conditioner runs.  These  contaminants build up inside the ductwork over time and can help make your duct system an ideal breeding ground for mold spores, bacteria, fungus, mildew and other microbes.  Each time the furnace or air conditioner is turned on, contaminants are spewed out and circulated throughout your home and affect the health and comfort of your family.  Family members who suffer from allergies, asthma or other respiratory aliments as well as children and the elderly are especially vulnerable to the effects of indoor air pollutants.  The removal of contaminants from the entire HVAC system is recognized by industry experts as the most effective way to eliminate air duct pollutants.  This is referred to as the "source removal" method of duct cleaning.  In addition to the obvious health benefits, duct cleaning can help you maintain a cleaner home.  It also helps restore HVAC system capacity and less running time, resulting in  lower heating and cooling bills.

Super Duct Cleaning Process

Super Duct Cleaning uses state of the art source removal equipment in our cleaning process.  The patented HEPA-AIRE portable power vacuum and the AIRE-SWEEP compressor are the key components of our cleaning process.  This system enables our technicians to reach and thoroughly clean your entire duct system.  We begin by connecting the HEPA-AIRE vacuum to the duct work near the HVAC system unit.  We then put the duct work under negative pressure (or vacuum) and cover all register (vents & returns) within the home with a non-adhesive masking to improve the suction.  We then clean each duct drop with 175 psi using our AIRE-SWEEP compressor and attachments.  This process is completely safe for your duct work.  Upon completion of the duct drops, we then clean all trunk lines using the 175 psi and AIRE-SWEEP back to the HVAC unit itself.  We then proceed with the anti-fogging process.  With the duct work still under negative pressure, an anti-fogging is completed on each duct for any bacteria, mold and/or mildew that may be present.  The blower motor in the unit is then removed and cleaned to remove all dirt and debris from the fan blades.  The coil is cleaned and vacuumed with a HEPA vacuum.  The plenums and the inside of the unit are also vacuumed using the HEPA system.  The final step of the cleaning process is to clean and sanitize all grilles/registers and place them back in the home.
